Bio

Botas was born in Detroit, Mi. From a young age he was experimenting with different forms of creativity. Botas won awards in elementary school for his artwork of pastel flowers which is still displayed in the home of his proud mother. Botas gained an interest in street art and 3D design during his teenage years and took a glassblowing class during a summer session at the Creative Center for the Arts in Detroit, Michigan. Botas furthered his education by attending the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California and later attending California College of Arts & Crafts in Oakland, California.  Botas graduated form California College of Arts & Crafts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in glass. During this time, Botas showed in various galleries in the Oakland, and Berkeley area of California. Botas then relocated to Portland Oregon. In Portland, Botas continued to paint and Blow glass.  Botas worked at the Elements Glass Studio in Portland, Oregon. At this studio he worked on various commissions, some that can be found at the Murano Hotel in Tacoma, Washington and fountains and chandeliers in the Belaggio Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Botas also showed Paintings and Drawings at the CO7 Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Botas returned to California in 2010, relocating to Sonoma County where he currently lives and works on various projects including photography, wood burning and carved reliefs.
